Had ski gloves that were warm but their size made operating the brake and shift levers a bit clumsy. Our local Specialized dealer had these in stock so I gave them a try. The Element 2.0 gloves performed exactly as advertised. They are rated to 32F/0C and the first ride happened to be just below that. They kept the digits toasty. Was impressed by the ability to easily operate a touchscreen with the gloves on. I went with the Hi-vis yellow version and had compliments from two passing trail walkers who were more easily able to spot me heading towards them. Highly recommend these gloves!
On the packaging, it says these are rated to 32 F degrees, but I wore these today in 23 F degrees on my 8-mile (one-way) commute to work, and my fingers were fine. I could feel some coldness on my fingertips but it wasn't anything close to that special "are my fingertips getting frostbitten?" feeling I started to get when the temps dipped below freezing while I was wearing normal gloves. There is another brand of winter biking gloves that are rated to 0 F degrees on the packaging (!) and those seem a little better, but these Specialized Element gloves were on sale at the time so I got them. I'm happy with them.
